Remote controls can pose a problem for everyone, but for older people in particular, they can be frustrating to use.
Turning on a TV and satellite box can use two to three remote controls giving you 60-90 buttons to choose from.
This prototype invention by designer Tom Stables from the Royal College of Art, creates a system that brings three remote controls together. The card cut-out only reveals the buttons that are needed and takes the user through the process in easy-to-follow steps. Different cards can be selected to suit the different types of remote controls that you have.
The results speak for themselves - this video shows a woman in her 80s using the prototype design.
